ATIS-0600315.2007 TESTING

The 4301 Series has been specially designed for EMC testing of network telecommunications equipment and is capable of reproducing the waveforms required for DC voltage variations and transient voltage measurements as described in GR-1089 Section 10 and ATIS-0600315.2007.

Pulse Triggering

The 4301 system automatically triggers your AWG to create the test pulse.*

Up to 240A DC at +/- 50V DC

Pulses of up to 800A at voltages of up to +/- 100V.

Current and Voltage Monitors

Assist in the completion of Requirements R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 of the ATIS standard.

Integrated AWG

Optional Fluke 281 AWG comes pre-programmed and integrated into the 4301 system.

Versatile

The 4301 is a fast, low-noise, DC-capable AC amplifier system that can be used for a wide range of DC transient and steady-state tests.

ATIS-0600315.2007

Voltage Levels for DC Powered Equipment Used in the Telecommunications Environment

Abstract:

This standard establishes requirements and objectives for voltage ranges and characteristics (transient and noise) associated with the input voltage of network telecommunications equipment powered from dc power systems in the telecommunications environment. This standard does not specify dc power plant voltage levels. Also, this standard does not specify the voltage applied to the interface between the network and customer installations (i.e., network span voltages or voltages at the customer interface). Full document (purchase required).

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Section 5.4 of the ATIS-0600315.2007 Standard requires testing for protective device operation transient. This testing may be done using the waveform shown in Figure 1, or using the three waveforms shown in Figures 2 through 4, each applied separately.

Total Protective Device Operation Transient Impulse Transient Overvoltage Transient Undervoltage Transient

FEATURES

4301 amplifier trigger displays

The 4301 can output transient voltages of 50-100V in less than 2µS, or 5-100V in less than 5µS (shown). It can reproduce either the combined waveform/ single measurement or the multiple waveform/ multiple measurement methods described in the ATIS standard.

4301 amplifier trigger displays

The 4301 provides a built-in Trigger function for triggering the DC pulse during testing. The Trigger function prepares the system for high-voltage output, and then triggers your AWG to generate the test pulse.

4301 current and voltage monitors

Scaled Voltage and Current ports provide the data needed to complete Requirements R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 of the ATIS standard.

4301 adjustable compensation

Adjustable compensations allows the 4301 to maintain a 2uS rise-time over a wide range of current outputs.

4301 expansion capabilities

Room for additional components is provided within the 4301 cabinet. A four-outlet, 120V auxiliary receptacle is provided for powering additional components.

Optional Fluke 281 AWG

Optional Fluke 281 AWG

You can purchase a 4301-series Telecom Test System with an optional Fluke arbitrary waveform generator. The Fluke 281 AWG comes mounted in the 4301 cabinet and pre-configured for the DC voltage variations and transient testing described in ATIS-0600315.2007.

The AWG is programmed to load the negative waveform forTotal Protective Device Operation Transient at power up. Waveform segments and setups for alternate waveforms, including the Impulse Transient, Overvoltage Transient and Undervoltage Transient, as well as positive and negative versions of each waveform, are also included and can be easily loaded to the AWG.

All alternate waveforms have been designed to load smoothly and be easily shaped and edited using TTi's Waveform Manager Plus software (provided with the AWG option). When equipped with the Fluke 281 option, the 4301 provides a complete solution for GR-1089 Section 10/ATIS-0600315.2007 testing.
